Story and influences
A realm steeped in myth, legend and forgotten tales — stories of sorrow, mystery and the pursuit of something greater.
Arkadien's music draws deep inspiration from the progressive rock giants of the 1970s, including Pink Floyd, Genesis and Camel. With a soundscape built on lush, atmospheric vintage tones, the band weaves melodies through a rich foundation of drums, bass and guitars, accompanied by the timeless sounds of the Hammond organ, grand piano, Mellotron and Moog synthesizer.
The lineup features Carl on guitars, Anton on drums, Fredrik on bass guitars, Joakim on keyboards and Johanna on vocals — five players who leave room for silence as often as for volume.
Founded in Stockholm in November 2019, Arkadien continues to craft music that transports listeners to otherworldly landscapes, where every note tells a story.

Carries the melodies and treats every lyric as a confession rather than a hook.

Drums
Half ritual percussion, half controlled demolition. The engine room behind every live take.
Timeline
2024 – Present
The current lineup took shape in 2024. Fredrik Berg joined first, adding bass and a second voice to the songs. Later that year, Johanna Wäneskog stepped in as lead vocalist, completing the five-piece sound the founding members had been building toward.
2019 – 2024
The band began in 2019 with three brothers writing songs in a small rehearsal room below street level. Those early years were spent finding the ARKADIEN sound: long instrumental passages, hymn-like melodies, and the crescent, column and flame that would become the band's emblem.
